Mr. Francis Abebrese is currently a Research Economist at the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET). He currently serves as the research coordinator for ACET flagship program - the African Transformation Report that focus on transforming Africa’s Agriculture. He trained as a Development Economist with a research background in trade, welfare analysis, health, public financial management, industrial policy, and the environment. Before joining ACET, he worked with Golden Star Resources Limited, a gold mining company in the Western Region of Ghana to develop and implement alternative livelihood programs in the mine’s catchment areas. He has also worked on a number of research projects including the Export Supply Response Capacity Constraints Study in Ghana commissioned by the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC).
Michael Kottoh is co-founder and managing partner at the advisory firm Konfidants, a boutique consultancy with a presence in Switzerland, South Africa and Ghana. A management and policy consultant, he has advised investors, corporates, multinationals and international organizations including the African Development Bank, Ecobank, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; and previously served at the World Bank, Africa Center for Economic Transformation and the National Development Planning Commission.
William has extensive experience
working in the social impact ecosystem in Africa. His unique and varied experiences
from both corporate and non-profit organisations led to an evolution into Entrepreneurship,
focused on Social Innovation. As Co-Founder of Impact Hub Accra, William works within an operational
framework of "Educate, Connect, Incubate and Invest", to create a strong support system for early stage entrepreneurs in Ghana.
He has led teams to raise capital
from a mix of investors and donors, including
the Rockefeller Foundation, the Tony Elumelu Foundation, the Danish
Government and the US Government's Broadcasting Board of Governors.
It is a civic movement dedicated to the use and promotion of various technologies to encourage truth-telling, fact-checking, and integrity, in public life whilst influencing the public to put a premium on the credibility of public figures whose views, claims, and ideas impact the direction, content, and style of critical public debates and conversations.
